About Bryan

I’m a born and raised Columbus, Ohio artist, and I’ve been video editing and making films since I was in middle school. I remember the day I fell in love with film and the cinematic experience, like a movie scene in my memories. My mother took us to see Toy Story 2 in theaters. She had previously tried to take me to see The Rugrats film the year previous, but I wanted to “watch it on the little tv” at home, I told her. The second time around though, everything clicked. The grand atmosphere of the movie theater; the whole experience felt like second nature for some reason. When the lights went down, I knew it was time to focus in for the experience. From the trailers, to the studio intros, then finally the film experience itself- I just somehow understood what it meant to take in the “film experience.” Ever since then I’ve been in love with the immediate perspective shifting art form. I found it easy to express myself through the visual medium of filmmaking, and connect with those around me.

I started my filmmaking journey through video editing and making short films on Windows Movie Maker. It was 2005, my mom had just got our first Desktop Computer, and it also was just when Youtube went live on the internet. So, I was fortunately (or unfortunately?) raised by internet video culture. I would edit together gaming videos, and music videos to songs I loved at the time. Later I moved up to iMovie in High School through a new production class offered my sophomore year. I was editing on it only for a year, as the class and classroom got upgraded, and I was able to start fumbling my way through learning Final Cut Pro. My biggest project in High School was a semester long News Show. I directed and edited the entire group project.

After graduating High School, I pursued filmmaking further through the Moving-Image Production Program at The Ohio State University. Here is where I started using the Adobe suite (Premiere Pro & After Effects). I had talented, insightfull professors, and worked alongside great friends I made in classes, and through a film club I joined. The club was, Mad Royal Film Society. There is where I got a lot of my experience in filmmaking. It was like our own little production company. We produced semester long short films as a club, while also doing smaller short film projects, in smaller groups, in between. I ran multiple groups myself, leading production meetings on larger scaled productions, and mentoring new members. During my time at OSU, I was able to work on independent films, smaller studio productions (PA’ing for Good Deed Entertainment in Ashland, OH), and making works of my own- figuring out my voice.

Now, I’ve worked in local broadcast, social media, and continue to create, direct, and edit films of my own, and with other talented artists. Most recent works include editing a TV Pilot of an adaptation, a community focused short film, and video projects for the Dublin Arts Council in Dublin, Ohio.

I’m always looking to tell compelling, unique stories, with passionate and unique individuals. Please reach out through my email or social media page to if you are interested in Video Editing work, or filmmaking collaboration.

“Keep on, keeping on.”
